Apam drowning: Mahama donates to bereaved families & Fishermen Council

Former President John Dramani Mahama has donated a sum of ¢10,000 to the families of the teenagers who lost their lives when they accidentally drowned at an Apam beach on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

A sum of ¢3,000 was also donated to the Fishermen Council.

Mr Mahama who was not present had the donations made on his behalf by his Running Mate in the 2020 December election, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

According to her, the donations were to support traditional rituals and the burial service of the young victims of the unfortunate incident.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang consoled the bereaved families and conferred with the two survivors and their families.

She expressed her appreciation to the rescue teams, the Fishermen Council, the youth of Apam, management and staff of St. Luke Catholic Hospital, and the District Police Command for rising to the challenge and offering material supports.

A couple of other National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials accompanied Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to make the donations.
