The former WBC Super Featherweight Champion, Professor Barima Azumah Nelson congratulated Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum on his elevation as the substantive Minister of Education.
“The Professor” paid a courtesy call last Monday on the Minister for Education, at his office in Accra.
Dr. Adutwum who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe constituency was Deputy Minister of Education during President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s first term of office.
On 5 March 2021, He was appointed by President Akufo-Addo as the substantive Minister of Education.
The boxing legend was particularly happy with the role played by Dr. Adutwum leading to the successful rolling out of the flagship Free Senior High School policy as well as the Double Track system in the country.
Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, 56, is known for his unannounced teaching visits to schools although he is not in active teaching service.
Before returning to Ghana to take up the ministerial role on the invite and request of the president, Dr. Adutwum founded the New Designs Charter Schools in Los Angeles and also worked as a Mathematics and Information Technology teacher at the Manual Arts High School for ten years.
