The Bono East Region of Ghana has recorded its first case of the novel coronavirus disease, an official of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has said.
According to Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Head of Public Health at GHS, further details will be made available soon…“The [details] will be brought up based on information that we further pick from the region and then the affected district.”
Dr Sarkodie said the case was confirmed in the early hours of Thursday, May 28.
This makes the Ahafo Region the only region without a case of the virus.
The Greater Accra Region has more cases with 5,148 cases since Thursday, March 12 when the first two cases in the country were recorded.
They are followed by the Ashanti Region with 1,099 cases.
The Central Region comes up third having overtaken the Western Region, the current hotspot, in third place after 360 cases as of Tuesday, May 26.
