Danlad Ibrahim, the Black Satellites shot stopper, has been named as the best goalkeeper for the just ended 2021 CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament at Mauritania.
The former Black Starlets goalkeeper was very influential in the post throughout the campaign for the Black Satellites conceding just three goals.
The performance of Danlad who is also Asante Kotoko keeper caught the attention of the tournament’s Technical Study Group (TSG), hence, winning the prestigious award for goalies.
The youngster’s many heroic contributions in the tournament includes saving a penalty during the quarter final stage against Cameroun which resulted in their qualification to the semi final.
He was again instrumental in the grand finale, keeping a clean sheet against the Hippos of Uganda when Satellites skipper Daniel Afriyie Barnie got a brace for the Ghana team.
