COVID-19: Ghana’s death toll now at 629

Ghana’s Covid-19 death cases keep rising with the current figure now at 629. This is as a result of 18 more people succumbing to the deadly coronavirus.

The latest update from the Ghana Health Service indicates that 489 new cases have been recorded as at February  28 and March 1 2021, bringing the active cases to 5,145.

The regions that continue to lead with the highest rate of infections are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western and Central.

A total of 85,239 cases with 79,465 recoveries have been recorded so far in the country.

Vaccination against the virus is currently underway within 43 districts which are known to be hotspots of the pandemic in Ghana.

According to the Ghana Health Service, thirty thousand people have so far been vaccinated.
