Duffuor can’t get 20% against Mahama – Ben Ephson

Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson, says, it is impossible for former Finance Minister, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, to beat former President John Mahama in the flagbearership race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2024 elections.

According to the renowned pollster, he will be surprised if the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana accumulates 20 per cent of the total votes cast in the primaries which is likely to be held in 2022.

The astute Businessman is believed to be preparing to contest former President Mahama to become the next flagbearer of the NDC in the next election.

However speaking on Accra-based radio station, Starr FM on Monday, Mr Ephson said, “he [Duffuor] will struggle to get 20 per cent…remember in 2018 Mahama got 95 per cent of the votes.”

Mr Ephson was also very doubtful Ghanaians will vote for any candidate over the age of 70 years to lead the them.
