The vice-presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has intimated that at the heart of the party’s agenda is education.
“Education is central to our pursuit of equal opportunity for all Ghanaians.” She wrote on her twitter page on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
According to the Former Education Minister and Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, education is a socio-economic right that must be enforced.
She added that, as a result the NDC will expand and renovate educational facilities in the country to make them fit for the 21st century.
“It is a socioeconomic right we must enforce. This is why the NDC will expand and refurbish educational facilities to make them fit for the 21st century.”
With sixty-one days to the 2020 general election, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is currently on a five-day campaign tour of the Eastern region to communicate the party’s manifesto (The People’s Manifesto) to the people and also canvassing for votes for the Umbrella party.
She said the quality of life and welfare of ghanaians is what matters most and that the NDC shall always labour for the masses.
Professor Opoku Agyemang was named in July by John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer of the NDC, as his running mate for the December 7 poll, making her the first female to be selected as running mate in the history of the party.
