Election 2020: Akufo-Addo sets another record with victory

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has set another record after winning the 2020 general elections in Ghana.

Nana Akufo-Addo contested the election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and emerged victorious with 6,730,413 representing 51.595 percent of the total valid votes.

John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came in second with 6,214,889 votes representing 47.366 per cent.

In the Fourth Republic, Akufo-Addo set his first record of securing the largest vote difference for an opposition leader’s victory in 2016 with 984,570 vote difference.

In the same vein the President-Elect has set another record as the incumbent to secure the highest vote difference of 515,524.

From the above, Nana Addo’s vote difference has decreased by 469,046 votes.

He beat Mr Mahama by 515,524 votes difference.
