Germany supports Ghana with 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines

The Deputy Minister for Health, Mahama Asei Seini, has on behalf of the government of Ghana received 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the German government.

The donation is in support of Ghana’s fight against COVID-19 which has so far taken away over 1,000 lives in the country.

The United States government, few days ago also revealed its plans of supporting Ghana’s fight against covid-19 with 1.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccines.

Vice President Kamala Harris of the US disclosed this to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during bilateral talks at the White House on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Vice President Harris indicated the donation is part of the US’ commitment to help countries including Ghana to recover from the adverse effects of COVID-19.

Ghana has so far secured over 3.2 million vaccines.
