Paul Adom-Otchere is new Board Chair of Ghana Airports company

Veteran broadcast journalist Paul Adom Otchere has been nominated as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The President also retained current embattled managing director for the GACL Mr Yaw Kwakwa.

The appointment letter, dated August 30, 2021 was sent to the Transport Minister and signed by Chief of Staff Frema Opare.

Other members of the board include Mr Teye Adjrackor, Mr Kwabena Mantey Nyarko, Mad Philomena Sam, Mr Francis Kofi Nunoo, and Grp. Cpt. Gervase Wienad.

The appointment comes barely a month after the workers of the company agitated, citing mismanagement, internal procurement breaches and welfare management issues and thereby demanding for the sacking of Managing Director.

The workers also demanded the immediate release of their frozen deductions for Staff Welfare, Insurance, Credit union, and SSNIT benefits.

The demand followed a physical assault of a worker by Yaw Kwakwa, the Managing Director for the company during a staff meeting over their 13-month arrears.
