The provisional results of the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) will be released on Wednesday, September 22 by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
This will be an important milestone in the 2021 PHC dissemination strategy that aims to promote wide usage of census data for research, policy and planning and share lessons learned from the implementation process with national and international partners.
Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, who revealed this in a press statement dated September 20 explained that the release of the results is a “major matter of national interest.”
The 2021 PHC happens to be the first census in an African country to be conducted successfully during the COVID-19 pandemic and Ghana’s first digital census.
The findings in the provisional results from the 2021 PHC will focus on population size and sex composition, population density, and structures by region.
