The people of Ghana will on Wednesday, 27th of January, 2021, pay their last respects to the late Ex President Jerry John Rawlings.
The Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration announced on Tuesday 12th January the new dates for the funeral of the country’s former leader following an initial postponement in December last year.
It also informed and invited the diplomatic community in its release.
According to the information, the laying in state will start from 24 to 26 January at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre from 9am to 5pm daily.
President Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
He founded the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He also ruled Ghana from 1981 to 2001 as Head of State and President of the 4th republic.
He was 73.
