SAFA part ways with Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki after missing AFCON Qualification

The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has terminated the contract of Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki, the Association has said.

The decision was announced on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at the SAFA HOUSE during the Bafana Bafana AFCON Qualifiers feedback Press Conference.

The 1996 African champions failed to qualify for the 2022 AFCON finals which will take place in Cameroon next year after they lost 2-0 away to Sudan in a must win clash at the Al Hilal Stadium, Omdurman in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum.

Two first half goals by Saifeldin Maki and Abdel Raman Yousif, last Sunday, were enough to dash the hopes of South Africans and secure the second spot qualification in Group C for the Sudanese.

Coach Ntseki became interim manager of Bafana Bafana in August 2019 after coaching various national youth teams. He was appointed permanent manager later that same month.
