Sarkodie pleads for Akuapem Poloo for the sake of her son

Ghanaian rap superstar, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has pleaded with the court to pardon actress and social media influencer, Akuapem Poloo, after she was convicted for posting nude photos of herself and her son.

Known in private life as Rosemond Brown, Akuapem Poloo was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday April 14 for posting the nude pictures on social media in June 2020.

Now awaiting sentencing on Friday April 16, Poloo has been remanded into custody after the court, presided over by Mrs. Christiana Cann, deferred the sentencing to enable her undergo pregnancy test in compliance with the law.

According to legal experts, the actress could serve a jail term of three years maximum or pay a fine for the offence.

Meanwhile, rapper Sarkodie is of the opinion that it will be too harsh to separate Akuapem Poloo from her son to serve a jail term because of the pictures.

Many others have also called on the court to temper justice with mercy for the sake of the young child involved.
